- Add the boiled bananas to the above mixture
- Cook for a few minutes on low-medium heat
- Serve with beans/beef or solo
Is matoke the same thing as plantain? They are in the same family, but are different both in flavor, texture and shape. Matoke/Plantains is one of the Traditional main dishes in south western Kenya to the Kisii community which consists of steamed green cooking bananas. Plantains are a staple in most of Africa.
