Dhokla/Idada is one of the most favored of recent trending meals on earth. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. It’s appreciated by millions daily. They’re nice and they look fantastic. Dhokla/Idada is something which I have loved my entire life.
Dhokla is a vegetarian culinary dish that is found mainly in the Indian state of Gujarat and parts of adjacent states. It is made with a fermented batter derived from rice and split chickpeas. Dhokla can be eaten for breakfast, as a main course, as a side dish, or as a snack.
To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook dhokla/idada using 8 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Dhokla/Idada:
- Take 2 cups Rice
- Make ready 0.5 cup urad dal
- Take 0.5 cup Chana dal (add only for Dhokla)
- Make ready 2 tbsp curd
- Make ready 1 sachet eno
- Make ready as per taste salt
- Take 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- Take as required oil
For making homemade flour mixes for Khaman, Dhokla, Handvo, Dosa, Idli, Kapuriya, I use organic Rice and Lentils. So I do not wash them but if you suspect that Rice or Lentil needs to be washed. Gujaratis and khatta dhokla go synonymous. White dhokla are popular steamed cakes made using Sprinkle little chilli powder over it.
Instructions to make Dhokla/Idada:
- (On first day morning) Mix rice, dal and keep it under water for 1 day
- Make pieces of flat cake
- (On first day night) Then make paste in mixer while adding water
- Add salt, haldi, curd 2 big spoons, eno 1 teaspoon then mix it
- (On next day morning) add 1 teaspoon eno and mix it properly
- Take oil in dhokla making pan and pour mix into it.
- Simultaneously add water to shell and add lime to it.
- Now put pans in to shell and cook for 15 minutes
- Make pieces of flat cake
- Take oil and rai in one utensil and do vaghar of pieces of dhokla
- Dhokla is ready!!!!
Idada dhokla is an amazing nonfried snack that you can have anytime. This is simply a non-fermented version of Dhokla. This Dhokla is very special for Jains and people who are suffering from acidity. We call this safed dhokla aka white dhokla. Because on occasion we make yellow colored dhokla where Hi Kanan, Can you please share the recipe for yellow dhokla (idada) not khaman dhokla.
